COVID-19 Update October 2021
October 5, 2021

To Our Valued Co-op Customers, Members and Team Members

Our locations are providing essential goods during the COVID-19 pandemic, while working to protect the health and safety of our members, our customers, and our team members.

We have learned that:

  • One of our team members working at our Archerwill Home and Building Solutions location has tested positive for COVID-19. Upon receiving their test results this past Thursday, the team member notified their supervisor and has gone into mandatory self-isolation. The team member’s last day worked was Friday, September 24th. This team member started to experience symptoms on Monday, September 27th and was tested on the 28th.
  • One of our team members working at the Melfort Food Store location has tested positive for COVID-19. Upon receiving their test results today, the team member notified their supervisor and has gone into mandatory self-isolation. The team member’s last day worked was Sunday, September 26th. This team member started to display symptoms after their last shift and immediately sought a COVID-19 test.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we have monitored the guidelines put out by the Health Authority and will continue to follow the directions they provide. The health and safety of our team members and our customers is paramount as we provide essential goods.

Prairie North Co-op will continue to use our already high standards for frequent cleaning, sanitization, and practicing physical distancing measures (including utilizing the plexiglass barriers at our counters). We have and will continue to encourage all our team members to seek testing and to undergo self-isolation if they feel any potential COVID-19 symptoms.

We understand the impact of COVID-19, which is why we want to be transparent and disclose broad details about the confirmed cases like this while ensuring the confidentiality of our team member.

Our priority remains to supply this community while keeping our employees, customers, and community safe and healthy. We thank our customers and community members for joining us in this endeavour. We care greatly for the communities we work and live in and as a local, member-owned business, we take the responsibility to protect our communities seriously.

General Manager Prairie North Co-op
