September 9, 2020

Melfort, SK (September 9, 2020) — It’s time to fuel good. Fill up your tank on Fuel Good Day and Co-op will make a donation to a local organization in our community.

As part of Fuel Good Day on September 15, 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold at Prairie North Co-op Gas Bars in Archerwill, Kelvington, Melfort, Naicam, Spalding and St. Brieux will be donated to North East Outreach & Support Services (NEOSS). This includes all grades of gasoline and diesel fuel.

“Once again, Fuel Good Day is providing the opportunity for us to work together with our members and customers for the benefit of our community,” says Terry Tremblay, General Manager, Prairie North Co-op. “This is a great fundraiser that shows how small actions can have big impacts.”

For 2020, we’ll also be making a $1 donation for every Co-operative Coffee or Big Cool purchase.

Co-op has a long history of serving Western Canada. In 2017, Fuel Good Day was launched. During this one-day event, Co-op donates a minimum of five cents from every litre of fuel sold at participating Co-op Gas Bars to a local charity or non-profit organization. Fuel Good Day takes place in September at more than 400 CO-OP® Gas Bars throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. In two years, Co-op’s Fuel Good Day has raised nearly $1.2 million for more than 275 local organizations.

“This year has presented its own unique challenges as we have not been able to hold our usual fundraisers, which we rely on for the continued operation of NEOSS,” explains, Louise Schweitzer, Executive Director of NEOSS, “Prairie North Co-op’s donation from Fuel Good Day will assist us in alleviating some of that financial stress and ensure that we are able to continue to assist our clients on their journey of healing, and betterment of their situation. Through the variety of programs, we provide at NEOSS, and amazing supporters such as Prairie North Co-op we are working to change the lives of individuals one life at a time. This affects generations to come.”
