Change Begins in Our Backyard
PRAIRIE NORTH CO-OP RELEASES 2022 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT ON EARTH DAY

Melfort, SK (for immediate release) – At Co-op, sustainability is more than our environmental commitments and actions—it’s how and why we operate. For us, sustainability means looking through the lens of the social, economic, and environmental effects of our business as we plan and make decisions to ensure viable operations while having a positive impact on the people and communities we serve.

“Each year I am tasked with drafting our Sustainability Report,” explains Terri Larsen, Marketing and Communications Manager for Prairie North Co-op. Larsen goes on to say, “It is so incredibly rewarding to know that I am a part of something bigger, a company that is making a difference. At Prairie North Co-op sustainability is a multi-faceted undertaking that impacts everything we do, I see it in the decisions we make that re-enforce our commitment to being good corporate citizens, to those that illustrate our commitment to environmental stewardship, to employing local people and supporting local projects and organizations so that our members take pride in being a part of our co-operative and our customers feel good about supporting us.”

“From features on our community investment and how we give back to the organizations and charities in our trading area; to growing our co-operative; reducing our environmental footprint; living our values; and how we show our appreciation to the people who work for our Co-op beyond the pay cheque they receive, our 2022 Sustainability Report communicates how we are a different kind of business and how proud we are of that difference.”

Co-ops have long believed in being a responsible business – protecting our members’ investments while also considering our people, our communities, and our environment.
