2025 Fuel Good Day Charity Announced
July 15, 2025

Melfort, SK (for immediate release) — Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Mark your calendar for this year’s Fuel Good Day!

Putting gas in your vehicle isn’t something you likely get excited about normally, but Fuel Good Day just might be the exception. Back again for its ninth year, Fuel Good Day sees a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel sold donated to local charities across the Co-op Retailing System (CRS), so you can feel good about filling up and giving back.

“This year we are pleased to announce that Prairie North Co-op, as we have done in past years, will match the five cents that Federated Co-op (FCL) donates,” says Keith Mamer, Gas Bar Division manager, “regional libraries in the communities in which we have retail operations will benefit from fuel sold on September 16, as well as from the charity BBQs hosted at our gas bars that day. We will also donate one dollar from every Big Cool and Co-operative Coffee sold that day”.

With the support of its customers, members and the community, Prairie North Co-op has raised an average of $10,000 a year since 2017 for local charities through its annual Fuel Good Day program. That is an amazing $80,000!

“Fuel Good Day is an important event each year for the CRS,” said Derek Wassermann, Director, Petroleum for FCL. “It’s been incredible to see the success and growth year after year, and we look forward to seeing what we can come together to do in 2025.”

In 2024, the record-breaking total saw more than $704,000 go to 200 organizations chosen by Co-ops across Western Canada.

Prairie North Co-op profits do not leave the community, they go back into it – and back to our members. We take pride in our community involvement and our commitment to providing quality products and services.
