Celebrating the Opening of Kelvington's New C-Store Gas Bar

On Friday, May 9th we celebrated the grand opening of Kelvington's new c-store, gas bar, and liquor store. The grills were fired up for a charity BBQ at 11 am and in a little over two hours raised $1960 for the Kelvington School of Dance! Thank you to everyone who was on hand to help with the event and a special thanks to the community who supported it! It feels like this day has been a long time coming but thanks to the hard work of Sharleen Leffler and her team (and FCL, the Prairie North Co-op Board of Directors and senior leadership, and the contractors and inspectors) our beautiful new facility is open in Kelvington and ready to serve our customers and members for years to come!

From Terry Tremblay, Prairie North Co-op General Manager — I am so grateful to the community for your patience during the past months as we worked through the development of this project. Planning started years ago and though events caused delays and changes in our path, we are ecstatic with the final result. Sharleen and her team have remained so positive despite the challenges during this project that I am inspired by their commitment and energy. I am also grateful to the rest of our Kelvington team that was so willing to help whenever called upon. This project is evidence of our Co-p’s commitment to building sustainable communities. It is only possible because of your support. We are honoured to have it and will continue working to earn that support going forward.
