Co-op Week 2025
Co-op Week 2025
Come celebrate Co-op Week 2025 with us!
This year between Oct. 12 – 18, the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is not only celebrating Co-op Week but also International Year of Co-operatives (IYC). The IYC theme this year is Co-operatives build a better world which acknowledges the impact of co-operatives and the inclusive solutions they provide to today’s global challenges. Join us this week in learning about and celebrating all that co-operatives are and do!
Building a better world starts in our own backyard. We can be proud that we work together to create employment opportunities, share our profits with our members and reinvest back into communities through programs such as Co-op Community Spaces and Fuel Good Day.
We are a different kind of business because we’re a co-operative. Co-operatives are owned by their members, guided by values and principles, and make decisions to balance the needs and interests of their members and communities. By working together and being grounded in these values and principles, the CRS has remained strong and resilient in a rapidly evolving world.
A highlight of the last several years is the announcement of the successful Prairie North Co-op Sustainable Communities Fund recipients. Congratulations to the Melfort Youth Soccer Association greenspace improvement project and the Naicam Viking Sportsplex Puck Pit mini stick rink. Following are some facts about Prairie North Co-op's Sustainable Communities Fund . . . in its fifth year, it is a pool of funds for capital projects - build, expand, and/or improve facilities; or new programs - develop and implement new programs that support the people in our communities. Over $100,000 has been dispersed to fund fifteen different community projects throughout Prairie North Co-op to date.
