Co-operatives have a long history of serving members in Western Canada. In the early 20th century, people worked together to create retail co-operatives in many towns in the four western Canadian provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia).
We pride ourselves on our customer service and invite you to visit a location closest to you. When you visit, we strive to make you to feel like “You’re at home here.”
Significant Dates in the History of Prairie North Co-op
- June, 1914 — Melfort Grain Growers Co-operative is incorporated, the origins of Melfort Co-op.
- May, 1967 — Red & White Store in St. Brieux purchased as a branch of Melfort Co-op.
- January, 2010 — Naicam Co-op amalgamates with Melfort Co-op to form Prairie North Co-op.
- January, 2011 — Spalding Co-op amalgamates with Prairie North Co-op.
- January, 2018 — East Central Co-op (Kelvington) amalgamates with Prairie North Co-op
- March, 2019 — Archerwill locations become part of Prairie North Co-op
