Prairie North Co-op Pie Sensations a Success
July 16, 2020

Pie Sensations was started a couple of years ago by Prairie North Co-op staff in response to the loss of a team member. The premise was that all flavours of pies would be on sale for a two-week period before Father’s Day and that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the pies would be donated to charity. The first year, almost $10,000 was donated to Heart & Stroke between staff, member and customer direct donations and the donation from pie sales.

2020 was the third year for the fundraiser, which ran June 12th through 21st at the Archerwill, Kelvington, Naicam, Melfort, Spalding and St. Brieux food stores. This year six flavours of pies were available - apple, cherry, blueberry, pumpkin, saskatoon and strawberry rhubarb. The pies sold for $4.99 with $2.00 from each pie sold going to local food banks. Over 1500 pies were sold which generated a little over $3000.
