Results of 2025 Board Election
The results of the 2025 Prairie North Co-op Ltd. Board of Directors Election are in! Congratulations to Trent Fedorychka and Monica Sochaski on their re-election, and welcome to new board member, Loei Fettes.
Lori Fettes
I grew up on a mixed farm south of Melfort, attending high school in Melfort before enrolling at the U of S and completing an Agriculture degree. Following university, my husband and I moved back to Melfort to raise our children. I ran a home-based daycare while the kids were young and then I obtained my insurance license and worked at Melfort Agencies. I was the Executive Director of the Melfort and District Chamber of Commerce from 2006 to 2008. In 2009 I returned to the agriculture industry working at the Co-op feed plant in Melfort. I started as the Purchaser and moved into the Feed Plant Manager role until the mill closed in 2019. I currently work as an Area Manager with Regional Housing Operations, working with local housing authorities in Northeast Saskatchewan. I live on a farm south of Melfort with my husband, Tyler, where we raise cattle and sheep. I have always been involved in my community, having been a member of the Melfort Kinettes for several years and was named the Telemiracle Rep of the Year in 2003. Today, I am the leader of the Beatty Beef 4-H Club. Prairie North Co-op is an integral part of our community that provides such important services to our community, and I would love to be part of the Board of Directors.
Trent Fedorychka
My name is Trent Fedorychka and I am running for my 3rd term on the Prairie North Co-op Board of Directors. I can’t believe it has already been 6 years since I joined the Board. Prairie North Co-op has been through lots of changes, challenges, and growth over those years. It has been an honour to work along side the other directors and management while improving the Co-op experience for our members, customers, and staff. I have learnt so much in my tenure and hope to learn even more as time goes with your support. I was born and raised here in Melfort. My wife Karen and I are very strong believers in community volunteerism and making our communities a better and safer place to live and work. I am an insurance and financial advisor for the Co-operators here in Melfort and have worked throughout the Northeast for a better part of the past 26 years. Karen and I are proud parents of three awesome grown children and two very cute grandchildren.
Monica Sochaski
Born and raised in the Melfort area, my family has a long history of memberships with the Co-op. My parents operated a mixed-farm, and I was an active participant in the local 4-H Beef Program. With Diplomas of Applied Arts, majoring in Business Administration and Marketing, I believe my post-secondary education has been an asset to the Prairie North Co-op Board of Directors for the past three (3) terms that I have served. During my time to date as a Director, Prairie North Co-op has experienced challenging and innovative changes. I am excited to be a part of such a forward-thinking organization. The knowledge, skills and abilities acquired through my employment history – private business, provincial and federal agencies, and community-based organizations – have proven to be assets to Prairie North Co-op. And most recently, I have completed Series 1 (Foundations of the Co-op Governance) and Series 2 (Building Strategic Leadership) offered by FCL through the Directors Development Program. My spouse and I make our home in Melfort, living, working, volunteering here. I am semi-retired and assist my husband with his home inspection business. We often say that we live in the house the Co-op built!
WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK JOHN KNUDSON FOR HIS SIGNIFICANT YEARS OF SERVICE ON THE PRAIRIE NORTH CO-OP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
